Notion export to Anki — upload a .zip, get a deck

Already exported your Notion page? Drop the .zip or HTML file and download a .apkg. No connection, no reformatting.

How it works

1. Export from Notion

Open the … menu, choose Export, and pick HTML with subpages. Notion gives you a .zip.

2. Upload the .zip

Drop it on the upload page. Images and subpages inside the export come along.

3. Open it in Anki

Double-click the .apkg. Your cards are ready to study.

Supported formats

What you actually get in Anki

Cloze deletions stay clickable

{{c1::...}} becomes a real Anki cloze card, not plain text.

Images render in the card

Embedded images come across and display on the front or back.

Tags carry over

Strikethrough in Notion or a tag column in CSV attaches to every card in the deck.

Correct note types

Basic, Cloze, and front/back map to the right Anki note type so import is clean.

No junk in your cards

No empty backs, no stray #, *, or $ characters left over from your notes.

Common questions

Do I need to connect Notion to convert an export?

No. The export path works without a connection: you already have the file. Connecting Notion is only for pasting a live page link and for Auto Sync, which both re-read the page for you.

How do I export a Notion page as HTML?

Open the page, click the … menu in the top-right, choose Export, set the format to HTML, and include subpages. Notion builds a .zip you upload here.

Do images and subpages survive the export?

Yes. An HTML export bundles images and every included subpage, so the deck keeps them. Each subpage becomes its own subdeck.

Can I upload a Markdown or CSV export instead?

You can, but HTML is the most faithful. Markdown works too, since nested bullets become front and back, but some Notion formatting does not carry over, and a CSV export drops embedded images. Use the Markdown or CSV converters if that is all you have.
