How to convert a Word document to Anki
If your notes live in a Word document, you don't need to rebuild them as cards by hand. Upload the .docx file to 2anki and download a .apkg deck that opens in Anki. Headings, images, and formatting come across.
What carries over from a .docx file
2anki reads the document's structure. Headings name the deck and subdecks. Images embed directly in the cards. Bold, italics, and lists keep their formatting. Strikethrough text becomes a tag applied to every card in that deck — a quick way to label a chapter or topic.
Format your document for clean cards
Use headings for deck and section names. Put one question or term per line with its answer on the next. Short prompts make better cards than paragraphs. You can edit every card in Anki after import, so a rough first pass is fine.
